Paul Dixon - Owner and Auctioneer
Paul established the estate agency in its current guise and has over forty years’ experience and knowledge to draw upon. Paul’s in-depth agricultural knowledge and his involvement in the Holmfirth Cattle Market as an Auctioneer, enhances his extensive profile. His high standards and prudent business principles help to make Wm Sykes & Son the successful estate agency it is today. In his spare time Paul is a member of the local parish council and is heavily involved in local and farming issues.

Rob Dixon – Sales Manager and Valuer
The eldest son of Paul Dixon, Rob joined the company in 1998, after studying valuation and surveying at Staffordshire University. Rob has strong family values and is passionate about moving the company forward whilst retaining its heritage. Rob believes in offering a comprehensive first class service. He works with his customers to offer a fair and honest valuation and uses his vast market knowledge to advise clients, many of which remain with him year-on-year.

John Green – RICS Chartered Surveyor
John has brought a vast wealth of experience since joining the company in 1996. He gained a qualification as a Chartered Surveyor in 1984 and worked for a very well-known independent estate agent as an associate partner before joining Wm Sykes & Son. John’s extensive experience has given him a wide knowledge of properties in the local and surrounding areas.

John Firth RICS – Rentals and Agricultural
John is a longstanding dedicated member of the team, a Chartered Surveyor and has a great deal of experience in agricultural sales. He has worked for small private practices and national companies and has experience working in the livestock markets in Huddersfield and Penistone. He also runs our very successful rentals department where he is heavily involved in all aspects, from valuing the properties and preparing the marketing particulars, to meeting the high demands of both landlords and tenants.

Grace Brooks – Sales Negotiator
Grace started as a weekend trainee negotiator and soon became a full time member of the team. Grace thrives within a busy environment and provides a first class service to all her clients. With dedication and ambition to extend the company’s sales portfolio, Grace is always keen to go the extra mile to create a potential sale. Her forte in technical support and discipline in administrative duties makes her a vital part of the successful team.

Steph Sumner – Sales and Rentals Negotiator
Steph’s position as sales negotiator allows her to help and support her clients on a daily basis. She thrives on providing a friendly customer service. Her previous experience within a corporate estate agency gave her a great introduction to the negotiating role. Since joining Wm Sykes & Son she has widened her experience by also getting involved in the residential rentals department.

Claire Tootill – Weekend Sales Negotiator
Claire is responsible for arranging weekend viewings and negotiating sales for her customers. Her clients love her friendly approach, attentiveness and eagerness to understand as much as she can about their requirements as possible. This approach helps her offer the best service to vendors and buyers alike.

Clair Paxman – Sales Negotiator and Home Staging
Clair’s background encompasses time within commercial sales, an independent estate agency and later running her own home staging business. Combining her experience in home staging and her passion for property helps her to match our customers’ properties with the right buyer. She is able to advise clients, helping them to prepare their properties for sale through the Prestige service.

Yvonne Mayhew – Administrator
Yvonne is a longstanding and very valuable member of the team. She joined the company as a school leaver in 1985. Yvonne’s role as head of the administration department means her daily duties form a vital part of the smooth running of the business, not a lot can happen within the company without Yvonne! Her 25 year loyalty within the company was recognised when she enjoyed a cruise around the Canary Islands in 2011 as a thank you from the management for her dedication.
