Paul Dixon - Owner and Auctioneer

Paul established the estate agency in its current guise and has over forty years’ experience and knowledge to draw upon. Paul’s in-depth agricultural expertise and his involvement in the Holmfirth Cattle Market as an auctioneer, enhances his extensive profile. His high standards and prudent business principles help to make Wm Sykes & Son the successful estate agency it is today. In his spare time Paul is a member of the local parish council and is heavily involved in local and farming issues.
Rob_Dixon Rob Dixon – Valuer and Director

The eldest son of Paul Dixon, Rob joined the company in 1998, after studying valuation and surveying at Staffordshire University. Rob has strong family values and is passionate about moving the company forward whilst retaining its heritage. Rob believes in offering a comprehensive first class service. He works with his customers to offer a fair and honest valuation and uses his vast market knowledge to advise clients, many of which remain with him year-on-year. Rob opened the Slaithwaite branch of the business in 2017 with his wife, Louise.
Louise_Dixon Louise Dixon – Business Manager

Louise joined the company in 2007 on a part time basis. Over the years her role has grown and she now helps with all areas of the business. Her background in marketing means Louise is passionate about the Wm Sykes brand and helping her husband Rob, achieve the vision for the company. Driven by helping people, her focus is on providing the Wm Sykes team with a pleasant and supportive place to work along with delivering a number of administrative responsibilities.
Jane Jane Stocks MNAEA – Lead Valuer and Branch Manager

Jane joined forces with the Wm Sykes & Son team in 2017 to open our Slaithwaite office as branch manager and senior valuer. With over 30 years’ experience in helping customers find and sell their perfect homes, Jane uses her expertise and knowledge of the Colne Valley and surrounding areas to great effect. Prior to joining us she ran Jane Stocks Estate Agency in Marsden for 10 years. She was also an associate and manager of the residential department at Carter Jonas in Slaithwaite where she predominantly dealt with unusual and higher value properties, and gained a good understanding of the local Dartmouth Estate.
Rebecca_Stafford Rebecca Stafford – MRICS, FAAV Agricultural Surveyor

Rebecca first joined the team in 2007 as a weekend sales negotiator whilst studying her A-levels. After attending Harper Adams University, Rebecca worked for a northern land agency firm during which time she became a qualified RICS chartered surveyor and agricultural valuer, having gained valuable experience in a range of agricultural and property matters.  We were delighted to welcome Rebecca back to the company in October 2015 as a full time agricultural surveyor. Rebecca is dedicated and passionate about local agricultural issues and works closely alongside Paul and her clients to deliver a comprehensive range of agricultural services.
Clair_Paxman Clair Paxman – Valuer

Clair’s background encompasses time within commercial sales, an independent estate agency and later running her own home staging business. Combining her experience in home staging and her passion for property helps her to match our customers’ properties with the right buyer. She is able to advise clients, helping them to prepare their properties for sale through the Prestige service. 
John_Firth John Firth MRICS – Rentals Manager and Agricultural Surveryor

John is a longstanding dedicated member of the team, a Chartered Surveyor and has a great deal of experience in agricultural sales. He has worked for small private practices and national companies and has experience working in the livestock markets in Huddersfield and Penistone. He also runs our very successful rentals department where he is heavily involved in all aspects, from valuing the properties and preparing the marketing particulars, to meeting the high demands of both landlords and tenants.
Steph_Sumner Steph Sumner – Sales Negotiator

Steph’s position as sales negotiator allows her to help and support her clients on a daily basis. She thrives on providing a friendly customer service. Her previous experience within a corporate estate agency gave her a great introduction to the negotiating role. Since joining Wm Sykes & Son she has widened her experience by looking after property sales in Meltham, Slaithwaite, Marsden and Dobcross.
Claire_Wood Claire Wood – Sales Negotiator

Claire was appointed Senior Negotiator in September 2018 after 5 years with the company. She takes day to day responsibility for the sales team and looks after a wide variety of properties and clients. Her wealth of industry knowledge and experience means Claire provides a calm, hands on approach. This, alongside her friendly manner and attentiveness instils confidence and reassurance in her clients, even in the most complicated of sales.
Yvonne_Mayhew Yvonne Mayhew – Administrator

Yvonne is a longstanding and very valuable member of the team. She joined the company as a school leaver in 1985. Yvonne’s role as head of the administration department means her daily duties form a vital part of the smooth running of the business, not a lot can happen within the company without Yvonne! Her 25 year loyalty within the company was recognised when she enjoyed a cruise around the Canary Islands in 2011 as a thank you from the management for her dedication.
   
Gemma_Saint Gemma Saint – Sales and Rentals Support Administrator

Gemma’s role puts her extensive administrative experience to excellent use. She spends time arranging viewings, dealing with enquiries and working alongside John to deliver a high quality and efficient service to our rental clients. Gemma also works alongside Louise on various projects and has been instrumental in implementing the new property software. Her lively outlook and zest for life make her an invaluable member of the team.
Georgia Georgia Mayhew - Sales Support Administrator

New to the team in October 2017, Georgia is the daughter of long standing team member, Yvonne and has been known to Rob and Paul all her life. Ready for a new challenge and eager to learn an industry from the beginning, Georgia joins the Slaithwaite team at a really exciting time. Her positive outlook and enthusiasm for the local area mean Georgia is always on hand to help clients out with her local knowledge.

Jordan Yelland-Hey – Sales Support

Jordan works as part time sales support whilst studying for his law degree at Huddersfield University. His approachable and chatty make him popular with clients and staff alike. Often to be seen out and about conducting viewings for sales, lettings and auction properties.

 

Helen Jackon – Sales Negotiator

Helen is passionate about properties and moving house with 23 moves under her belt! This personal experience of the industry means Helen understands the process from her client’s point of view and is able to provide appropriate guidance at every stage of the process. Her law degree provides her with an even greater understanding and this paired with her enthusiastic approach make her a hit with her clients.

Kay joined the company in 2018 and is gradually building her property portfolio. Kay is driven by a desire to do the very best for her clients making her customer service second to none. She is keen to understand as much as she can about our clients requirements, helping to provide the best service to buyers and sellers alike.
Digley_Dixon Digley Dixon – Office Dog
Probably the most laid back member of the team. Digley spends his days asleep under Rob’s desk but always wakes up at noon to taste test everyone’s lunch. Gives cuddles whenever needed. A much loved member of the team.
