The house has been extensively renovated in recent times and features flexible 5 bedroom accommodation with generous living accommodation to match.
Full DetailsABOUT MAGDALE HOUSE The property is understood to originally date back to the mid 1700's, the Eastern section originally being a pair of semi-detached cottages. The middle section was added in the 19th century and features a slightly lower roofline, then in the 1980s a further section was added upon the footprint of a former barn.
The original section is grade II listed and of traditional stone built construction under a stone slate roof, the additions also remain in keeping with the original construction although the more modern section is of course of cavity wall construction. Our clients purchased the property in 2007 and have carried out an extensive refurbishment taking great care to retain the original features whilst incorporating high quality fixtures and fittings throughout.
The property is entered through a central hallway which is partially open to double height and features a galleried landing and exposed roof trusses above, stone flagged floor and access to the downstairs WC. From here you can access the original wing of the house which features 2 beautiful living rooms and also a study. To the other side of the hall is a dining room with entrance porch off, then a beautiful kitchen by "Smallbone of Devizes". The kitchen is partially open plan to a breakfast / dining area which in turn provides access to the utility room and garage.
Upstairs is where the wealth of exposed beams and roof trusses can be seen in particular from the landing and first two bedrooms. The primary bedroom and guest room also both have a their own en-suite shower and bathrooms. There are two further bedrooms located within the newer part of the property and bedroom 3 is situated in the 19th century section. All are doubles and are served by a further house bathroom.
It is connected to all mains services and features a gas central heating system, the windows have all been replaced, largely in the sash style and in keeping with the listed building status. All fixtures and fittings are of a good quality and compliment the many more traditional features such as the exposed beams, mullions and stonework that are on display.
Externally, a gateway from Lea Lane provides access to the front of the house where there is a generous parking area and access to the garage.
